Aged 22

 

Employed at the Caledonian Hotel, Ullapool. Son of Mr. Simon Mackenzie,

4th Bn. The Seaforth Highlanders.

 

Enlisted in the 4th Seaforths 1916
Killed in action near the Roeux Chemical Works near Arras on the morning of 23rd April, 1917.

 

Had one brother serving -

  • Corpl. William Mackenzie, M.M., Cr. de G., 8th General Rifles.

Official Records state that he was a Private, not a Corporal and that he was killed on the 24th of April 1917 and not the 23rd as stated above.
